Betalbatim Farmers Club demonstrate the use of a rice transplanter

Going deep into the problems of why agriculture has been dormant over the past few years, Betalbatim Farmers Club decided to handle the major issue of labour problem by creating an awareness of reviving agriculture by mechanisation .

So we decided to demonstrate the use of a transplanter which would save time as well as labour costs . The demo was heldin a fieldwhich was not cultivated for almost 15 years.

It started of with learning how to bring up the nursery as required for transplanting by the transplanter. We had over 35 enthusiastic farmers turn up for the same and on the 13th we had over 50 farmers turn up to see the transplanter at work.

We got a lot of insight into successfully using it and plan to use the transplanter in the future.

BETALBATIM VILLAGE FARMERS CLUB

FARMERS OF BETALBATIM VISIT CHARAO FARMERS ON 12TH OF APR. 2011

A group of 22 enthusiastic and interested farmers along with the Bank Of Baroda , Betalbatim Manager went to Charao Farmers Club Office in Charao to acquaint themselves to the idea of forming a Farmers Club in Betalbatim to support each other.

We left from Betalbatim at 2.10 pm reached Charao at 3.45pm.

We were warmly welcomed by Yogita Mehra , Mr Mahambre(President of the club) a a vibrant team of farmers .

Yogita Mehra led us into thinking and expressing why our farmers have felt the need of forming a Farmers Club.

Mr Mahambre gave a brief introduction on how 40 years back  we used to see acres and acres of green fields but now with high costs of cultivation ,  high paying overseas jobs , education , technology , indutrialisation have contributed to fields being left barren.

Now we can come together  as a family of farmers to support each other to continue farming using modern methods , mechanising farming and thus making it profitable by promoting farming for business .
